What is the Victorian Energy Upgrade Program?
The Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program allows Authorised Providers (APs) such as Belly’s Air Conditioning to provide incentives for people upgrading to energy-efficient air conditioning systems in Victoria. When an air conditioning system is installed or upgraded by our team, businesses and households will receive a rebate for making improvements to the energy efficiency of their air conditioning units and lowering their greenhouse gas emissions.
Upgrades to air conditioning systems can involve removing gas heaters and replacing them with reverse cycle air conditioners, optimising existing systems to enhance energy performance and changing over existing split system air conditioners to a more efficient split system.

Who is eligible for the VEU Rebate?
Every Victorian household is eligible to participate in the program. There are no minimum or maximum income requirements. Your property must be more than 2 years old and you must be upgrading an existing heating and cooling system with a more energy efficient system.
How much is the rebate?
The exact value of the rebate is based on the type of air conditioner you are replacing and what kind of air conditioner you are replacing it with. - If you are replacing a gas ducted heater with a reverse cycle ducted system, the rebate is between $1000 to $4000.
- If you are replacing a gas ducted heater with a reverse cycle multi-split system, the rebate is between $1000 and $3500.
- If you are replacing a gas space heater with a reverse cycle multi-split system, the rebate is between $900 to $2000.
- If you are replacing an old split system with a new reverse cycle split system, the rebate is between $200 and $500.
